Today we want to present our friend who writes about her lesbian experience in Barcelona, we are very grateful to share her feeling for this lovely city 😉
I never thought I would fall in love with Barcelona as I am right now, thanks to all the moments I have been enjoying in this wonderful city, I truly feel in love with it. Although if I’m honest, our great love story is a one that has been forged slowly through day to day, to get to know each other and finally having the feeling that we need each other.
Barcelona has given me everything, I assure you. My girl is from Barcelona and here we met and fell in love. In Barcelona I discovered that I should not be afraid of being who you are, you can be whoever you want to be, dress how you like, grab the hand of the person that you want, regardless of gender or skin color. In Barcelona I discovered that there are many girls like me, girls who like other girls and do not hide , I’m not the only one … In Barcelona I finally got to understand myself as I’ve never done before.
We love art and history to understand who we are and how we got here, Barcelona full of history everywhere. Although Barcelona has a few must see like the Sagrada Familia, Park Güell, Montjuic Castle … I recommend you to get lost around the city and discover a lot of beautiful and hidden places.
The lovely weather and how easy is to get here from anywhere in the world makes Barcelona one of the best holiday destinations in the world, and it’s totally worth it.
Barcelona is a pink city, there are many locals , pubs , clubs , parties, festivals … Barcelona is the second favorite city for the LGBT community , only after the great Amsterdam, who are pioneers in this destination. Surveys say that LGBT people felt “comfortable” in this city because everyone is accepted and open mind. That’s why the LGBT film festival, Fire! has always been welcomed in this city.
Last year a group of the writers created the First LGBT Poetry Festival Barcelona. Undoubtedly, Barcelona offers plenty of leisure to all groups in general and in particular to us, but what is undeniable is that in terms of culture we are also ahead, always offering the latest innovations and trends.
If we talk about entertainment, surely we could say that the most famous festival is the Circuit Festival, with assistants from all the world.
We also have the first gay tour guide company for gays and lesbians! Yes, yes it’s true … They have great tours around the city and they help you to make sure that your holidays in Barcelona are unforgettable!
The great Freddy Mercury fell in love with this city back in 92, shortly before he died. Once he was asked about Barcelona and he said: “Barcelona, what a beautiful horizon, like a jewel in the sun; for you I will be your beautiful sea gull.”.
Thank you Barcelona for giving me the two things I love the most: My freedom and my love.
She only writes in spanish, but if you want to follow her here there are her social networks:
