The 2015 Barcelona Circuit Festival, an event now considered to be the most important summer gay festival in the world, is back! From August 5th through the 16th this macroevent, which once again places Barcelona as the world capital of gays and lesbians, will be held and it is going to rock the more than 70,000 partakers visiting us from all around the world.
For those of you who may not have heard of it, the Circuit Festival is an event based largely on the enormous parties (sometimes even water-themed) it throws, but where visitors are also offered cultural activities, sporting events, and gastronomic experiences, with the goal to make everyone attending have an unforgettable holiday. And we can assure you that this is the case!
The 2015 Circuit Festival kicks off on Wednesday August 5th with the Big Opening Party in Barcelona and finishes on Sunday August 16th with the Week Safado Closing Party, which will be held in the EiBiSi Club in Montornès del Vallès. For those parties held outside of the city of Barcelona, the organization will provide coach shuttle services that will leave from the centre of Barcelona, in front of the Hard Rock Café in Plaza Cataluña.
One of the main events of the 2015 Circuit Festival is the Water Park Party, with both its day and night events. This party will be held on Tuesday August 11th at L’Illa Fantasia, a waterpark in Vilassar de Dalt, just 25 minutes from Barcelona. In this incredibly fun party, the best DJ’s around will offer guests an aquatic music festival experience, where the temperatures will be hot and the even hotter guests will dance the day and night away in the pool with a cocktail in hand…you can imagine it for yourself!!
This party is one that many locals also attend, attracted by the circuiters’ spectacular bodies (worked and cared for all year long to be in their best shape possible for the occasion) and also by the opportunity to make new friends. This event is ideal for spending an amazingly fun and unique day by the pool with friends.
Moreover, the Circuit Festival has an enormous economic impact on the city!
While the typical tourist for this event is totally different from those that Barcelona receives throughout the year (most of the circuiters don’t care too much about the Sagrada Familia, museums, or modernist gems, given that they come to just have an amazing time), the high/middle class social status and the purchasing power of these guests allow them to spend roughly 250€ per person per day, which translates to more than 100,000,000€ spread throughout bars, restaurants, and shops in the Gayxample, as well as to many small, neighborhood businesses throughout the rest of the city. Some, during these days, can double or even triple their sales.
August has just begun and Barcelona is preparing itself for the 2015 Circuit Festival. You can see the schedule on the website by clicking here… some of the parties look fantastic!
